Before Your Wisdom Tooth Removal Surgery

  • Do not have anything to eat or drink for six (6) hours prior to your surgery.
  • If you take prescription medications, you may take them with a small sip of water. Please inform Dr. Naderi and his staff if this is the case at the time of consultation. If you have questions regarding this, please contact our office.
  • No smoking for twelve (12) hours prior to and four days following the procedure. Ideally, do not smoke until there has been 100% healing and recovery.
  • An adult must accompany and escort the patient to the office, remain in the office during the procedure, and drive the patient home (no exceptions).
  • If the patient is under 18 years of age, the parent or legal guardian must be present before, during, and after the surgery
  • Loose fitting clothing should be worn with sleeves that can be rolled up past the elbow.
  • Contact lenses, jewelry, and glasses will be removed prior to surgery
  • Makeup such as lipstick, and nail polish should not be worn on the day of surgery.
  • The patient should not drive a car or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours following the surgery.
  • If narcotic pain killers are prescribed, the patient should not drive a car or operate machinery while under the influence of the prescriptions.
